Four fast, affordable primes to choose from. When the Z50 first launched in the fall of 2019, a lot of photographers and gear reviewers panned it.Not because the camera was lacking in capability, per se, but because the system was lacking in lenses (and to some extent, in 'wow factor'), aside from pricey full-frame options and slow kit zooms.

You can use APS-C lenses in full frame cameras but you have to switch to crop mode which decreases the resolution. For example the A7IV with full frame lenses has 33MP of resolution and in crop mode with an APS-C lens has 14MP. Thus, you can use your APS-C lenses but you sacrifice resolution and your focal length has a 1.5x crop.

Macro lenses are built with a specific optical construction that enables the dramatic magnification of small subjects.
If you mount a Sony or Zeiss APS-C lens, it automatically uses only the central APS-C section of the full-frame sensor. You'd never know, since all the displays just look right. It's that seamless, but sort of silly to waste most of this camera's sensor area with an APS-C lens. Kit Lens lenses top. Sony FE 28-60mm.
A crop sensor lens will be optimized for your crop sensor camera and will be less expensive than a full-frame lens. Full-frame lenses can work with most APS-C cameras, as long as it is compatible with your camera model. A full-frame lens will have a different effective focal length when used on a crop sensor camera.
The a6700 by nearly all accounts looks like a terrific camera. And now they just recently annonced the a7C II and a7CR. From looking at the specs the new full-frame cameras seem to be about the same size as the a6700. Of course the full-frame lens will be larger than APS-C lenses, but there are some decent smaller full-frame lenses available too. The answer is that FE stands for Full E-mount. In other words, the lens focuses the light across the full area of the Full-Frame sensor. The other lens, E-mount, focuses its light over the area equivalent to an APS-C sensor. Since you probably want to use the whole of your sensor you’ll want to purchase FE lenses. However, it allows you to get the typical APS-C crop out of your full frame lenses. Meaning if you, for example, have a 50mm, you can put the camera into crop mode and turn it into a 75mm (just with a reduced megapixel count). Buying an aps-c lens for a full-frame camera would be a mistake. And this is an aps-c camera user speaking to you. Aps-c lenses are made for the smaller aps-c sensor. Thus they throw a smaller image circle than full-frame lenses do. Or in other words, they're throwing an image circle that will not fill the full-frame sensor in your new camera. The Sony ZV-E10 is a 24MP APS-C mirrorless interchangeable lens camera aimed at vloggers. It features an articulating selfie screen with touch capability, 4K video capture, headphone and microphone ports and a variety of add-on accessories to assist in video capture, including the handgrip seen in the photo above (sold separately) and a range of sophisticated microphones.
Sony’s new a6700 is an APS-C interchangeable lens camera. However, instead of playing specifically to beginners like Canon has been of late, the a6700 is an advanced option suitable even for professionals looking for a backup camera or a compact camera for travel. It weighs only 1.1 pounds and measures just measures only 4.8 × 275 × 3 inches.

Because the image sensors on Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras are 1.5 times smaller than a 35mm camera, you multiply the listed focal length of the lens by 1.5 to determine its equivalent. If you are an experienced photographer or have used a full-frame camera before, crop factor can be very helpful in choosing lenses.

The lens does not magically change from 70-300mm to a 105-450mm lens Crop any FF camera to APS-C size and you use a part of the image sensor similar in size to an APS-C image sensor. When cropping a full frame camera we only use part of the image sensor.
As a general rule you can happily use full frame lenses on APS-C cameras but you can’t use APS-C lenses on full frame cameras. My advice, unless you use this lens on another camera you own, is to sell it and buy a full frame Sony FE model lens. They’re not the same. Crop means you’re getting a smaller narrower picture.
