The new Mazda Connect on my gen 4 is much nicer than the previous gen but I don't use it as I'm always on CarPlay. The experience isn't quite as nice on a non-widescreen display. There are wireless adapters you can buy to make it wireless CarPlay but those are very hit-and-miss in terms of compatibility/working.
